On brisk and chilly winter days we reach for one essential, a jumper, and this season we are launching some really special pieces which are handknit in Donegal.
With our rich history of textile design, handknit jumpers from Donegal and the west coast of Ireland are world famous. The highly skilled, and beloved tradition of handknitting has been passed down through generations and this heritage and experience is visible in every stitch.
Our exclusive collection of handknits are made with care and consideration in the homes of skilled local craftspeople and feature age-old, intricate stitches, such as cables, diamonds and fisherman’s rib which provide comfort and warmth.
With designs inspired by Donegal’s rugged landscape, and handmade from wool locally sourced from our friends in Donegal Yarn, each piece is as unique as the hands that made them.
This season we have three styles available.
Maeve Fisherman Rib Jumper
A classic fisherman rib jumper, handknit in 100% merino wool for a little touch of luxury. This soft yarn is spun in a traditional way giving it the colourful flecks that are synonymous with Donegal textiles.
A thick ribbed knit with a crew neck and raglan sleeve, this jumper looks great layered under a tweed coat for extra warmth and available in two colours – burgundy red and a timeless creamy white.
Aran Cable
An iconic style, the Aran Cable knit jumper, named after the Aran Islands off the coast of Galway, features some of the most ornate stitches in Aran knitting. In our design, the traditional raglan sleeve crew neck has a blackberry stitch central panel, framed by cables and diamond and moss stitch. 100% pure new wool from Donegal Yarns is used to knit each one-of-a-kind piece.
Brody Fisherman Rib Jumper
Like the Maeve, but for him. A classic, thick ribbed, raglan sleeve fisherman rib jumper, handknit in a dark blue heather 100% merino wool. This luxuriously soft yarn is spun in a traditional way giving it the colourful flecks that are synonymous with Donegal textiles.
